We are thrilled to announce that Nicola Coom has accepted the role of Executive Director of Emerge Aotearoa Limited, alongside her existing role of Executive Director of Ignite Aotearoa. Nicola will lead our social services across the motu, including our mental health, addiction, disability support, peer, employment, offender rehabilitation and housing support. This includes our emergency and transitional housing services.
Nicola has been part of the Emerge Aotearoa Group whānau for the past five years as a member of the Group Executive Team, leading our People, Strategy, Communications and Enterprise functions. She has made a substantial contribution across our organisation. Nicola is deeply committed to our mahi, the people we serve, and the work we do.
Nicola is on the Board of Mind and Body Consultants, and is a Board Trustee of the New Zealand Familial Breast and Ovarian Cancer Trust (NZBOC) and The Neonatal Trust. Nicola also founded the Gift of Knowledge, a charity that provides peer support to whānau impacted by hereditary cancer, and was recognised for this work as a finalist in the inaugural Westpac Women of Influence Awards.
Ignite Aotearoa is the brainchild of Nicola who worked tirelessly with the Group Executive Team and our Board to develop a wellbeing social enterprise that uses technology to connect people to wellbeing enhancing resources and experiences via a digital platform.
We are thrilled and excited to be working with Nic in this new position. As and when alert levels allow, Nicola will no doubt be introducing herself at national and regional forums.
