Emerge Aotearoa is a national provider of mental health, disability, community and social housing services that are designed to empower people to reach their full potential – te whakapakari rawa i tō te tangata kaha whakaora i a ia anō.  We support people from all walks of life, working with them to improve their individual and family/whānau wellbeing. The Trust is an innovative, fast-growing charitable enterprise that oversees a broad and substantial range of services across the country, as well as a sizeable social housing portfolio.  It employs more than 1000 staff.

We are now seeking to appoint exceptional new trustees/directors to both the Emerge Aotearoa Trust and its operating entities, continuing the good work of long-standing board members who have reached the end of their maximum term.

Our new board members will be experienced directors, who can bring at least some of the following skills and experience:

  • Credible commercial governance and leadership experience
  • Private sector business acumen with significant size and scale
  • Experience in housing and property development, in particular social housing
  • Financial and investment experience
  • Health/social sector experience and relevant senior networks
  • Experience in service innovation and entrepreneurship

In addition to these skills you will share our commitment to being a Tangata Tiriti organisation, and to equity and diversity as expressed in our three strategic pou.  You will have strong critical reasoning and strategic acumen, a track record as a collaborative and relationship focussed board director on sizeable entities, and a genuine commitment to our kaupapa and values.
