At Emerge Aotearoa's Flexible Disability Support Service, we work with young people to build a support network around the goals they want to achieve.
Our team assists young people leaving school, who have received Ongoing Resourcing Scheme (ORS) funding, to develop a plan for supports they will need and who will be delivering them. We then work alongside them to build a network of organisations and services that can help them reach their goals.
The support young people may request includes:
- assistance to take part in community activities or social and recreational groups
- parenting support
- help with education and employment options
- budgeting advice
Throughout the whole process, Emerge Aotearoa will keep in regular contact with the young person and monitor their progress. The work is done using a personal budget that has been approved through Ministry of Health Needs Assessment and Service Coordination (NASC).
