The word respite means “a short period of rest or relief”.
At Emerge Aotearoa, we have a number of facilities and options for respite. This might be for individuals needing some time out from their day-to-day living situation, or it can be provided for someone who needs significant care.
This allows the person and their whānau or carers to have a short break from each other, which is often important in supporting everyone’s overall wellbeing.
While some individual respite is accessed through mental health services, anyone who identifies as a disabled person's primary caregiver can apply for respite care by contacting our team.
Our goal is to provide respite guests with a positive, worthwhile experience throughout their short break.
