Tama Davis

Tama is of Ngāti Whātua, Waikato and Ngāti Tuwharetoa descent.

He has over 25 years experience in public health, mental wellbeing and addictions services, within iwi, the NGO sector and District Health Boards.

His expertise is in governing large health organizations. Previously, he was the deputy chair for ADHB, and the Northern DHBs representative for New Zealand Health Partnerships. Currently, Tama is the Poutaki Matauranga at UniServices - University of Auckland/Waipapa Taumata Rau.

He is a board member for Comprehensive Care PHO; an elected member of Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Trust and whanau director on Whai Maia, the social developmental arm of Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei; interim board member for Te Kahu o Taonui IMPB; board member for Auckland Health Foundation and Director of Ahikaroa Enterprises.

He holds an MBA from the University of Auckland, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Huanga Māori, and is a member of the Institute of Directors. His focus is on effective health services, indigenous models of care, addressing inequity in health outcomes, and pursuing hauora for all.
