Dr Jamie Ioane

Born and raised in Christchurch, Jamie completed a Bachelor of Science and a Postgraduate Diploma in Anatomy and Neuroscience at Otago University, before attending Auckland University for medical school. He worked in New Plymouth as a house officer and then became the Psychiatry registrar for the region. Since then, he has worked in Wellington, Porirua and Lower Hutt hospitals and the Waikato. 

He is an advisor to a range of organisations including Whakarongorau, The Pain Clinic, Orion Health and a University of Auckland Mental Health Research Survey in the Pacific.

Jamie is particularly interested in old-age mental health, neurodegenerative disorders, dementia, and the use of health technology.
