Operating since 2011, Phoenix Centre is a community-based alcohol and drug assessment and treatment centre focused on harm reduction and/or abstinence, depending on the person’s own goals.

Our dedicated team is led by a unique blend of experienced and registered addiction clinicians and trained peer support specialists. They work alongside each other to provide people and their whānau with the support services they need to embrace the recovery journey.

This free service provides:

  • Assessment and consultation
  • Mobile services to work with the client in their community or place of their choice
  • Help from a peer support specialist
  • Practical advice and support to make sustainable changes to promote recovery

We aim to maximise independence, form links with other services and individuals, optimise treatment of illness and enable participation in health-promoting lifestyles. This Papakura-based mobile service is available to adults aged 18 – 65 whose alcohol or drug use is significantly impacting their life, and are living in the Counties Manukau area.

You can refer yourself to this service or have someone contact us on your behalf. This includes your GP, the police, court, probation, corrections, and any other AOD services.

Talk to us today about the Phoenix Centre by calling 09 296 0983 or email phoenix@emergeaotearoa.org.nz.

“The Phoenix Centre team kept offering me support and continued to walk alongside me. I realised I could trust these beautiful people. I knew they cared and I became open to their suggestions of ways I could make positive changes. They helped me to realise my strengths and reminded me how much I enjoyed being a part of my children’s lives. They encouraged me to take up running with my children, which meant I got to spend more quality time with them, and it benefitted us physically and mentally. The Phoenix Centre also supported me with yoga classes, mindfulness lessons, and encouraged me to investigate my whakapapa. Finding out where I came from, connecting with my extended family, and connecting with my Māori identity had a huge impact on me spiritually”. – Keri, Phoenix Centre tāngata whaiora.
