Social Housing

Emerge Aotearoa provides good quality social housing that enable people and their whānau to fully participate within their community. Housing is provided to low income people who are eligible for social housing as determined by the Ministry of Social Development.   We provide housing income across Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

Applications for Social Housing are processed through The Ministry of Social Development.  Your local WINZ office will be able to advise you on eligibility and options available.

For more information about eligibility and the application process please contact your nearest Work and Income Office on 0800 559 009 or visit here

Emergency Housing

Emerge Aotearoa provides emergency housing for people for up to 12 weeks in both houses in the community and a number of motel units throughout the country.  Referrals come to us through the Ministry of Social Development and we continue to work in partnership with MSD while a person is in the service.

Each whānau or individual will have a housing navigator working alongside them to find more permanent, sustainable housing while taking a holistic view of any other supports that could be of benefit. Examples of this include support to access financial capability coaching, creating links with local maraes and schools, along with many other community based organisations.

All applications for Emergency Housing are processed through The Ministry of Social Development.   Your local WINZ office will be able to advise you on eligibility and options available.

For more information on the referral process please contact your nearest Work and Income Office or phone 0800 559 009 or visit here
