We’re excited for our wellbeing social enterprise ignite to be partnering with Farmlands and Rural Support Trust to help make mental health and wellbeing support more accessible for rural New Zealanders.
From today, if you live and work rurally, you can get access to a nationwide network of wellbeing support professionals available for free. Search the right person for you and connect with them when and how you want to, from your phone, ute, or kitchen table. No travel, no cost, no waiting rooms, at a time that works for you.
Because sometimes a yarn with the right person can make all the difference.
“This is about helping rural communities connect to specialist mental health and wellbeing support that isn’t offered locally,” says Sarina Finucane, Director of ignite.
“Where you live shouldn’t determine the types of support you can access. Rural communities are incredibly resilient, but resilience doesn’t mean going it alone. By removing distance and access barriers, we’re making it easier for people to connect with the support they need, when and where it works for them.”
Together, Farmlands, Rural Support Trust, and Ignite are making it easier for rural people to access support, with one shared goal: rural communities that thrive.
