Emerge Aotearoa Housing Trust is proud to be one of five strategic partners to help deliver more homes in Hawke’s Bay.
The Government has announced a new community-led approach to delivering 150 new social homes in Hawke’s Bay, in response to high housing need in the region, particularly after Cyclone Gabrielle. This initiative is part of a broader $140 million investment from Budget 2023 to deliver 1,500 new social homes across Aotearoa by mid-2027, in partnership with selected Community Housing Providers (CHPs).
Hawke’s Bay was chosen as the first region to pilot this collaborative model, involving iwi, CHPs, local councils, and community groups, led by the Matariki Housing Leadership Group. Emerge Aotearoa Housing Trust has already committed to delivering 24 in the region.
Other priority regions for delivery include Auckland, Tauranga, Hamilton, Porirua, Nelson/Tasman, and Rotorua.
